North Side Pizza Business Robbed at Gunpoint
Spokane Police Officers responded to the Pizza Pipeline at 1724 W Wellesley on the call of an armed robbery. A masked gunman fled the business with an undetermined amount of money in a red back pack. Shadle Park High was briefly placed on lock down in the aftermath.
On Friday 4/20/12 at about 1:40 pm police responded to the Pizza Pipeline adjacent the Hastings store at Wellesley and Ash. A lone suspect brandishing a semi-automatic pistol entered the store and demanded money from the employees. He made statements about wanting to be called “Robin Hood” and not wanting to hurt the employees, even though he pointed his gun directly at employees. The suspect fled northbound on Oak St. from the business. District 81 officials placed nearby Shadle Park High School on lock down, while officers checked the area for the suspect. No employees were injured.
Witnesses saw the suspect fleeing the area without his mask. The suspect was not located. The suspect is described as a white male, possibly in his 20’s, 5’9 to 6’0, with short dark hair. He was seen wearing black plants, a black coat, and carrying a red backpack. Anyone in the area around the time of the incident who may have seen something related to the robbery is encouraged to call Crime Check.
