Spokane Police arrested Stephen P. Link, 45, on May 21, 2012 just after 10pm for eluding and assaulting officers. Link was intoxicated and in possession of drugs at the time of his arrest.
Details: Detectives with the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) executed a search warrant on Link's Ford Ranger. Detectives found approximately three ounces of heroin – a Spokane street value of $2400.00. Marijuana, packaged for sale, as well as four different controlled prescription drugs packaged for sale, was seized along with a scale and baggies. The scale and baggies are used in the sale of narcotics.
Detectives have requested 6 additional charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver. Link was booked that night for Possession of Methamphetamine and other charges.
Link is well known to SIU detectives who have worked previous cases involving him.
Fortunately, both Sgt. Vigesaa and Ofc. VanTassel have returned to work, but see attached photo of Sgt. Vigesaa’s injuries. This situation illustrates not only the dangers of police work, but how officers work together to effectively apprehend and remove a criminal suspect from the streets of Spokane.
