Spokane Police Officers located and arrested a Burglary suspect inside a north side carwash. This suspect had been arrested for the same crime at the same location almost 9 years ago.
On January 27, 2013, at approximately 11:54 pm, Spokane Police Officers responded to an alarm at a car wash at N. 3121 Monroe. Officer David Daddato arrived on scene, and the business owner was already there. The business owner pointed out to Officer Daddato that a roof hatch in one of the wash bays was ajar and that there was insulation material on the ground below it. Officer Daddato also noticed that there were no footprints leading away from the building in the fresh snow.
Officer Daddato coordinated other officers to set up a perimeter around the building and a search team to search the small office area. Once inside, Officers saw that someone had broken holes through the drywall ceiling into the office areas. Officers searched the offices, and then climbed up into the attic area above the office and car wash bays. Up in this area, Officers discovered Samuel T. Lebsock, a 32 year old male from Spokane, hiding between the rafters. Officers were able to get Lebsock down and arrest him without incident.
Lebsock was arrested 2nd Degree Burglary and for an outstanding warrant for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 1st Degree. Lebsock was booked into the Spokane County Jail.
Officers discovered that in March of 2004, Lebsock was arrested for committing the same crime at the exact same car wash. In this case, Lebsock broke in using the same method and escaped, but left behind some paperwork with his name on it. Spokane Police Detectives followed up this lead and arrested Lebsock for 2nd Degree Burglary.
