Services Bureau

The Services Bureau provides the support services for the uniform activities of the Department.

The Records Division employs twenty-plus civilian staff positions dedicated to the input, archiving and retrieval of police incident records. They utilize a state-of-the-art computerized document management system for report entry and scanning that is completely interfaced to the main records management system database.

The Property Division handles all pieces of evidence involved in the 200,000 plus incidents responded to each year by the Spokane Police Department. The digital bar-coding system enables the Department to keep an accurate assessment of what is in our storage facility and preserve the integrity of each piece as potential forensic evidence.

The Abandoned Vehicles Division employs two full-time positions dedicated to the proper notification and removal of abandoned vehicles within the city limits of Spokane. Oftenabandon vehicles are one of several leading factor of neglect that can be a precursor to an increase in crime in an area. Through proper management of these vehicles, we are able to keep in close contact with neighbors to ensure their neighborhood stays safe.
